Correspondence with Carl Zigrosser, 1942-1971, n.d.

Victoria Hutson Huntley was a painter and printmaker whose work was represented at Weyhe Gallery. Her frequent and long letters to Carl Zigrosser describe the progress of her work, new prints and sales, her teaching, her doubts about her work and it's direction, and troubles in her marriage. The letters are emotional and probing in nature, as if she were thinking out-loud. She frequently seeks advice from Zigrosser. Subjects include print schemes, her applications for Guggenheim Fellowships, set-backs to her work, life in the various parts of the country she lived in (Florida, Chicago, etc.), Associated American Artists, her friendship with John Taylor Arms, and her appraisal of the work of Mauricio Lasansky. The later letters are less about her work and more about her health. Included are photographs of Huntley, her work, and printed matter.
